Working Programme:

Work-Package 5: Seminars

The core work-package of this project involves a series of training seminars and discussions. In these seminars, expert representatives from European Works Councils coming from within the organisations of the partnership, are invited to deliver seminars on the importance of, and best practices in joining, setting up and running European Works Councils. These experts shall be selected on various criteria including, academic credentials and length of service in a post directly related to running a European Works Council, contributions on issues relating to information, consultation and participation of representatives of undertakings and European Works Councils, and public delivery experience and skills. The experts shall familiarize themselves thoroughly with the data collected and analysis reports produced in the research work package before developing the seminar content and delivering it.

These seminars have three very important functions – that of serving as training courses to help representatives of undertakings join, set up and manage European Works Councils, that of serving as a forum for discussion about the major issues, and best practices in the setting up and managing a European Works Council and a platform from which the project and its deliverables and the concept of European Works Council can be promoted in each partner country. These seminars shall target primarily representatives of various undertakings from various economic sectors and employers associations. The other parties of Social dialogue, i.e. Government representatives and Trade Unions representatives shall also be invited to take part.

Deliverables:
